Hello from Pride Headquarters-

Pride Week: Be gone silly rain!

Thank goodness, someone was listening to our official meteorologist, David Brown, when he summoned for sunshine for Pride weekend!  The beautiful, sunny day (the first one in four years!) certainly added to the success of the Parade and Festival with the Parade alone boasting an estimated 750,000 spectators, 15,000 parade marchers, 200 registered groups, 45 vehicles and 21 floats…truly a record-breaking day.

The team at Boston Pride hopes you enjoyed our biggest Pride week ever and that you made many new wonderful memories with friends old and new.

We have our highlights too: the new parade route and Bar @ City Hall, the best and largest Sunday block parties in our history, and an email from the Mayor Menino logging his vote for this as the best Pride on record.

With Pride Week behind us we hope you’ll show your appreciation for the incredible amount of work done by our all-volunteer Pride Committee, by contributing to the Boston Pride Operating Fund today.

If you didn’t get a chance to throw a $5 or $10 or $20 into the enormous rainbow flag as it meandered down the streets, we hope you’ll consider making a charitable contribution now.  Your support is critical to our continued success.

Upcoming Events & Activities

As you relax into summer, remember that Boston Pride works to bring you a diverse array of events and activities year round.  Your Boston Pride Committee is already working on plans for Pride Week 2013 as well as exciting new programming including The Supper Club, a new dining out event slated for Saturday, August 25th, and the International Pride Conference which arrives in October

Of course, we’ll also be bringing you another great Latin@ Pride celebration in September and our 3rd annual Holiday Party, set for Sunday, December 2nd.  These events- as well as Pride Week and Youth Pride– do not and cannot happen without your support.  Make sure you mark your calendars because we’d love to see you all before next June!

Here’s to a warm, sunny, and happy summertime!

With gratitude,

Keri A. Aulita

Director of Development
