David Brown Signs on Again as Boston Pride Week Official Meteorologist

Brown hopes to bring back sunshine and warm weather for Pride Parade and Festival

Boston –May 22, 2013– Boston Pride announced that David Brown will return as the official Boston Pride Week meteorologist. Brown is the former WCVB-TV meteorologist and his Boston Pride Weather Blog will be prominently featured on the home page of Boston Pride beginning May 25.

Boston Pride Week 2013 is from May 31 to June 9, with this year’s theme, “Moving Forward…Proud, Strong, United.”  The theme represents the hardships that the LGBT community has persevered through and the drive to move forward together.

“We are thrilled to have David Brown return as our official Pride Week meteorologist,” said Linda DeMarco, President of Boston Pride. “He brought us blue skies and sunshine for last year’s Pride Parade and Festival, and we hope that David may have a repeat weather forecast for this year’s events.”

Boston Pride Week 2013 officially kicks off Friday, May 31 with the annual Flag Raising ceremony on City Hall Plaza and continues with exciting events throughout the week including Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall, the Royal Pageant, the Boston Pride Parade, the Boston Pride Festival, the Boston Pride Youth Dance, the Boston Pride Block Party: JP Edition, the Boston Pride Block Party: Back Bay Edition, a panel discussion on “LGBTs in Sports” and the first ever Pride Night @ Fenway Park.

David Brown is the chief advancement officer at The Forsyth Institute, after spending 27 years in television.  Prior to his position at The Forsyth Institute, Brown served as a meteorologist, co-anchor of the EyeOpener newscast and environmental reporter at WCVB-TV Ch. 5.
