Boston Pride learned with great sadness of the passing of EMS Captain Robert “Sarge” Haley, a friend and supporter of Pride and of our community. Captain Haley, who was instrumental in the emergency response during the 2013 bombing of the Boston Marathon, was a familiar figure on the grounds of the Boston Pride Parade for many years. Throughout the years, Captain Haley worked closely with the Parade team and the leadership at Boston Pride to ensure the safety and security of all guests and participants in Pride events. His smile, helpfulness and wisdom will be sorely missed. Boston Pride sends its heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone at Boston EMS.
