Malcolm Carey – Clerk, Board of Directors

Malcolm is not shy about telling anyone who asks “I joined Pride to meet guys”. In January 2004 during a blizzard Malcolm walked into the first annual volunteer recruitment meeting that year and has been with pride ever since.
Over the years he has been heavily involved in the production of the Pride Parade and done a little bit of just about every job there is to do for Pride. Heather Mills– Logistics Chair

This is Heather’s second year as the Logistics Chair. Heather attended her first Boston Pride in 2004 and loved it so much that, after graduate school, she decided to join the committee. She enjoys her role as the Logistics Chair as it gives her the opportunity to work with all of the other committees of Pride and see the "whole picture" of how it’s put together. She has thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities that being on the Pride Committee has given her to be more involved in the LGBT community in Boston.
Heather is a native of the Puget Sound region of Washington State and the Central Coast of California (and it still getting used to New England winters!). She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Wheaton College and a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her day job includes working in IT for a software company in Boston. Outside of work and Pride, Heather enjoys just about every outdoor/athletic activity, sci-fi/fantasy, hanging out with friends, cooking from scratch and reading up on/practicing sustainable living.

Cale Moore – Merchandise Chair

This is Cale’s third year working with the Boston Pride Committee. He started attending Boston Pride meetings as a way to become active in the community. Later in the year he became more involved when he was asked to help co-chair Merchandising. Cale’s favorite thing about Pride is the getting to meet all the different people that make our community so diverse and interesting. As a new committee member he hopes to bring a fresh and exciting perspective to the group. Cale lives in Dorchester, teaches mathematics, and coaches swimming. He enjoys cooking, biking and swimming when he can get the chance.

Sarah Prager – Volunteer Chair

Sarah has been volunteering for the LGBT community since she led her high school GSA in Connecticut. She came to Boston in 2004 to attend Boston University, and received her B.A. in Spanish while volunteering for MassEquality, Fenway Community Health, and other LGBT non-profits. She currently works for a social justice non-profit that provides training around issues related to HIV/AIDS and lives with her fiancee in Chinatown.
Sarah attended Paraguay's first ever Pride Parade while spending a summer there and worked for Bulgaria's only LGBT right organization before they had ever had a Pride Parade. She also won the award for "most poorly-planned last-minute weekend trip" when she traveled to Brussels just in time for the counter-rally to protest the Pride Parade she had missed the day before.

Email Sarah: volunteer@bostonpride.org

Carol & Cheryl Sabin – Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall Chairs

Carol has been a long-standing volunteer for the Boston Pride Committee. She has been a member of Moving Violations Motorcycle Club since 1992 and has been a liaison between the motorcycle club and Pride Committee for a number of years. She has had a focus on volunteering during the Boston Pride Faneuil Hall Marketplace event in the past. Often during the day of the parade and festival, she is acting as a volunteer representative for both organizations. She works in the accounting division for the company that employs her and has worked for that company for almost 30 years.

Cheryl Sabin has assisted Carol's volunteering efforts throughout the last 7 years. She has been an active volunteer of Moving Violations Motorcycle Club since 2001 and became a club member in 2002. Volunteerism and community service have been life-long activities including 10 years as a 4-H member and 2 years as a leader, working as a camp counselor, and other activities involving her career as a RN.

Carol and Cheryl met through the MVMC and will have been married 6 years on June 1st. Service to their communities is an important value in their marriage.

Jimmy Yohe– Entertainment Chair

This is Jimmy's first year volunteering for Boston Pride. He moved from Portland, Oregon in 2005 where he had attended Portland State University to study Opera and Clarinet. In between the practice rooms and studying, he volunteered with Pride Northwest, Imperial Sovereign Rose Court, PSU Queers & Allies, and Portland Leather Alliance. He joined Pride Northwest Entertainment Committee in 2001 as soon as he was 21 years old and able to attend the meetings at the bar. Serving as Entertainment Committee member 2001-2002, Entertainment Vice-Chair 2003, and Entertainment Chair / Board Member 2004, Jimmy never had the opportunity to see a Pride Parade until moving to Boston and was very moved.
His favorite part of Pride is the entertainment and the way Pride Festivals bring together the LGBTA communities to not only show our unity, but also to help those insecure or lonely. It is so much easier to be proud of who you are when you realize you are not alone.
In his down time, you can find him protecting Azeroth from the evil Lich King.
