Opening Night Movie Celebrates Boston Pride's 40th Anniversary
This year, celebrating Boston Pride’s 40th anniversary, the opening night film at the Boston LGBTQ Film Festival is Beyond Gay: the Politics of Pride. Bob Christie, director of Vancouver’s Pride Society, travels the world to places where simply declaring one’s self out is a political act that can incite violence, and where Pride takes an act of courage and a belief in the power of liberation.
