Proudly doling out recognition and praise to those who deserve to flaunt, boast and strut.
The Mission Award
This award honors a local LGBT community member who tirelessly and steadfastly works to create a more pleasant, beautiful, just world through their work and volunteerism. This individual walks, works, talks and moves in line with the mission of Boston Pride…to achieve equality and respect, to foster unity and dignity, to build and strengthen community connections.
2011 Award Winner: Marc Davino, Senior Director of Development & Communications, Victory Programs
The Vision Award
This award honors an organization or company that is a leader in its field in areas that affect the LGBT Community. The honoree is a trailblazing pioneer in the areas of fairness, justice, and equality. As taken directly from the Boston Pride Vision Statement, the work of the honoree mirrors the ideals of the organization to create change and progress in society, to promote community engagement and inclusivity and to strive for visibility and respect.
Google Inc., the Mountain View, CA-based technology company, has become a leader in championing LGBTQ workplace equality over the past decade, often going the extra mile with workplace policies and benefits to ensure that our employees are treated fairly. Google is committed to supporting their internal LGBTQ employee network, the Gayglers, in Google offices across the globe including Cambridge, San Francisco, London, Zurich, Israel and India. Google has demonstrated strong support for the LGBT community externally, including their ongoing partnership with Boston Pride and strong support for LGBTQ youth organizations and the It Get’s Better project.
We will also be presenting the 2011 Parade awards to Fenway Health, MassArt, Staples, and BU School of Medicine.
