On Thursday, June 9 at 7:30pm at the Bank of America Pavilion, Boston Pride presents a first ever Pride Week Concert in conjunction with Live Nation.  Tickets go on sale this Friday.

The world’s greatest party band The B-52s are teaming up with all-female rockers the Go-Go’s for a night full of chart-topping hits.  For the first time ever, Boston Pride and Live Nation New England have partnered up to present what is shaping up to be the best party of the summer at Boston’s Bank of America Pavilion on June 9.

The B-52s have remained America’s most beloved rock stars with their unique concert experience full of timeless hits including “Rock Lobster,” “Planet Claire,” “Private Idaho,” “Channel Z,” “Love Shack” and “Roam,” just to name a few.  With the enormous success of their 1979 self-titled debut, and 1980’s follow up Wild Planet, the B-52s created a lexicon of songs, styles, phrases and images which would set the standard for the development of the “alternative music scene” for the next decade.  But it was their chart-topping hit, 1989’s Cosmic Thing that propelled the band into international superstardom.  In 2008, the B-52s released their first new album in 16 years, the aptly titled Funplex.  With its primal guitar hooks, driving drums, and the B-52s unmistakable vocal style, Funplex is instantly recognizable as quintessential and contemporary B-52s.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of their double-platinum debut album Beauty and the Beat, the Go-Go’s are hitting the road on their Ladies Gone Wild summer tour.  Beauty and the Beat, which introduced such smash hits as “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “We Got the Beat,” was the first album to top the Billboard charts by an all-female band that wrote and performed their own songs.  1982’s Vacation and 1984’s Talk Show continued their chart and radio successes with “Vacation” and “Head Over Heels” and cemented the Go-Go’s as one of the most iconic and beloved groups of the 80’s.  Today, the Go-Go’s live show continues to deliver every bit of the raw energy of their now-legendary punk beginnings, tempered with the wisdom of three decades of pop perfection.  In addition to their Ladies Gone Wild Tour, this summer will also see the release of a Deluxe Edition of Beauty and the Beat, available May 17 from EMI, which includes a limited edition on hot pink vinyl.
