Boston Pride Block Party – Back Bay Edition on Sunday, June 9th

Grammy Nominated DJ Abel Providing Entertainment 

Boston, Mass. – May 21, 2013 – Boston Pride announced today that its annual Boston Pride Block Party – Back Bay Edition is returning to St. James Avenue in Boston’s Back Bay Neighborhood on Sunday, June 9th from 12 noon-8 p.m.  The event will be the first-ever daytime Pride Block Party headlined by Grammy nominated DJ and Producer, DJ Abel, one of the hottest DJs who headlines clubs from Miami to New York and beyond.

“We are thrilled to have one of the best DJs in the business, DJ Abel, rock the block to cap off a record-breaking week of Pride events,” said Rob Zuromski, a board member of Boston Pride and chair of the Block Party. “This year’s Back Bay Block Party is sure to be one of our best yet, and definitely should not be missed!”

The Boston Pride Block Party – Back Bay Edition will be one of two block party celebrations that Boston Pride hosts during Pride Week.  A second block party, with family-focused activities as well as entertainment, will also take place on Sunday, June 9th, in Jamaica Plain.

Boston Pride Week 2013 will be held from May 31st through June 9th. This year’s theme is “Moving forward…Proud, Strong, United.” Kicking the week o ff with The Annual Flag Raising Ceremony, 2013 Pride Week will also include, Pride Day @ Faneuil Hall, Royal Pageant, Boston Pride Parade, Boston Pride Festival, Boston Pride Youth Dance, Boston Pride Block Party: JP Edition and Boston Pride Block Party: Back Bay Edition, a panel discussion on LGBTs in Sports and the first ever Pride Night @Fenway Park.
