Boston Pride is delighted to introduce a new series of events: “LGBTQ Lives: A Diversity Series”, sponsored by Black Pride and Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates / Atrius Health. The first event will be held on Thursday, September 10th, 6-8pm, and will focus on “A Discussion of LGBTQ Lives in the Caribbean” with Max-Arthur Mantle, author of the book “BATTY BWOY”.

Max-Arthur Mantle will discuss his book BATTY BWOY a coming of age story of Mark Palmer, a gay Black Jamaican who suppresses his “gay tendencies” to distract being bashed or killed. He later migrates to America and breaks free from the closet, to a world where he feels disenfranchised and arrested. The book will be on sale for $24.95 and there will be a book signing and reception to follow.
