Kristen Porter Presents (Dyke Night®, The List: Boston’s Queer Agenda, and Drag Boston) and Boston Pride bring you the 2019 Jamaica Plain Block Party on Sunday, June 9 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm on Perkins Street. New this year, the Jamaica Plain Block Party will open early and provide an hour of reduced admission for those entering between 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Over 2,000 womxn, queer, transgender and non-binary folk, drag kings and queens, along with families and friends of all ages take over Perkins Street for a fun filled outdoor party with several cash bars (21+ to drink), food truck, drag show, rescue dogs available for adoption, DJ, dancing, and performances. 1:00pm – 6:00pm – The Kids Zone features face painting, games, dress up photo booth, characters
2:00pm- 3: 00pm – Drag Storytime – featuring several stories along with songs, activities, character appearances.
3:00pm – Kristen Porter’s beloved 8th Annual Divas, Dogs & Drag King Show – The largest drag king show in New England, features available-for-adoption rescue dogs showcased by advanced graduates of the King for a Day Drag King course. We welcome back emcee Sapphira Cristal and closing performer the one-and-only Lakia Mondale. The nine drag kings and the rescue dogs who will be showcased will be announced via our Facebook event page..
4:00 – 8:00pm – Dance Party – After the show, the street morphs into one giant dance floor with DJ L’Duke (LeahV). Her signature open format mixing and seamless genre-blending sets have won her the Boston Music Awards “DJ Artist of the Year” and Improper Bostonian’s “Boston’s Best DJ.” The dance party will showcase special guest Lilly Rose Valore performing Vogue Femme; highly stylized club dances from the NYC Ballroom scene that gained in popularity in the 1950s created by African American and Latino gay men.

$15 from 2:01 pm – 7:00 pm ($5 goes directly to the Boston Pride Community Fund which has granted close to $100,000 to local nonprofit/grassroots causes.)
