SAY HELLO TO LATINX PRIDE!
Latinx Pride!

Boston, Mass., August 1, 2016 – Boston Pride announced today that it has officially renamed its Latin@ Pride program to Latinx Pride. The name change was decided at the July meeting of the organization’s Board of Directors. While the use of Latin@ was meant to reflect the inclusion of both male- (Latino) and female- (Latina) identified members of the community, Boston Pride is taking this step as an explicit expression of the program’s inclusiveness of non-binary and non-gender conforming individuals in the community. “Our commitment to diversity and inclusion must be reflected in the names of our programs. This is a deliberate message to members of our community who do not identify as male or female: this is your Pride too, and you are welcome here” said Sylvain Bruni, President of Boston Pride. In the coming weeks, Boston Pride’s website, social media presence, printed material and other communications means will be updated to reflect the change.
